Rydons

Complaints have been made by tenants on Willow Way about a company called R S Roofing, who had been supposedly mending roofs in the area. From the sound of it all these roofs were worse when they were finished than before they started. We heard particularly about one tenant who had a leaking roof since the end of November and it is still leaking. A senior Downland officer told the RA that he understood that R S Roofing wasn’t working for Rydon anymore, but up to last Friday (1st. Feb.) they were still doing work in Willow Way. Our secretary spent nearly the whole day last Thursday trying to get either downland or Rydon to do something about one particular roof. R S Roofing came out on Friday, went onto the roof then told the tenant that they had sealed the leak and it was OK now.

The tenant went away for 2 days and when she came back there was still water running down the wall of her kitchen, which means that once again the roof hasn’t been mended properly. Downland were given a letter, photographs and a letter from a doctor as to the health of a 1-year-old child due to the damp in this flat, But they still haven’t done anything about it. We are still pursuing this problem, and hopefully we will be able to get this job done properly in the near future.
